Possible Twins At 5 Months Of Pregnancy?
Afternoon, I want to ask. 1 day ago I did an ultrasound, and there were two bags of uterus. The first one is clear but the other one is not clear enough, clearly there are 2 pockets of uterus. I want to ask what are the chances of me becoming pregnant with twins. My doctor said I would check again in 1 month to confirm, but I was impatient. I want to know right away, 5 weeks of pregnancy. Thanks.
Hello, thank you for the question to HealthReplies.com
Basically the most accurate examination to find out whether your pregnancy is twins or not is an ultrasound examination. Therefore, if the obstetrician who is doing an ultrasound is not sure whether your pregnancy is twins or not, of course we are not doing anything on you more can not be sure anymore.
If indeed on an ultrasound examination your doctor found 2 pockets of pregnancy, chances are you are pregnant with twins. But to ascertain whether the two pouches of pregnancy will really become a fetus, the ultrasound should be done again because in 5 weeks of pregnancy the fetus can not be seen from ultrasound. The fetus will usually be visible at least at 6 weeks' gestation, but to get a really clear picture of the fetus, usually a new ultrasound will be recommended to be done at 9-10 weeks of gestation.
You should follow the instructions of your obstetrician and patiently wait for your next control schedule. Meanwhile, you must always take care of your health, eat enough, drink enough, get enough rest. Make sure you eat nutritious foods and avoid foods that are prohibited for pregnant women, and one thing that is also very important is that you must take your pregnancy vitamins to ensure adequate nutrition for you and your baby.
So much information from me, hopefully enough answer
