Hello, thank you for asking the HealthReplies.com team. I'm dr. Nova will try to answer your question.
Circumcision or circumcision is the process of removing the foreskin or skin that covers the tip of the penis, the aim is to reduce the risk of infection. Circumcision wounds can heal 1-2 weeks later, can be faster or a little longer depending on health conditions and circumcision methods used. After being circumcised, the doctor will usually give you some oral medicines to reduce pain, kill germs so that they are not infected, and their medicines, as well as ointments or topical medications. After circumcision, the penis will usually be wrapped with sterile gauze the aim is to prevent infection and avoid collision or friction on the penis. However, this gauze should be removed when the wound condition has started to dry up, therefore it is necessary to control the doctor who circumcised the child, so the doctor will evaluate the condition of the wound and perform further wound care. Some things you should do for post-circumcision treatment at home include:
Wash hands before and after cleaning genitals
Keep the genitals clean, clean the genitals with a sterile infusion solution or with an antiseptic solution
Change gauze every day if the wound is still wet
Clean the genitals after bowel and bladder
We recommend that after circumcision do not use underwear or use loose pants first so that the wound of circumcision is not rubbed by the pants
Regularly control the doctor who circumcised you
You can take medicines for pain relief such as paracetamol or mefenamic acid
But if after a few days circumcision fever, severe pain, redness, festering, you should consult your doctor for wound care and maybe if necessary antibiotics to treat infections that occur.
Thus, hopefully it helps.
