Post Curette Spots?
Afternoon .. I am 20 years old On the 28th I had a curette operation because the fetus had died in the stomach. Well my question is whether the danger after a curette one day came out brown spots and then after brown spots came out red blood and quite a lot came out. The control schedule is still a week away but I’m bleeding all the time. Is it dangerous or not? Thank you
Hi. Thankyou for asking.
The act of curettage is usually accompanied by bleeding within a few days afterwards. Bleeding can also be accompanied by pain or lower abdominal cramps such as menstrual symptoms. This is because the action of curettage will cause the opening of the uterine blood vessels, so it takes time for the uterine blood vessels to heal completely.
You should immediately contact a doctor if it occurs:
Prolonged bleeding. There is no standard stipulation on how long normal bleeding can last after curettage, but if the bleeding is more than 1-2 weeks, then you should consult with your doctor.
Increased bleeding, fresh red blood, or accompanied by blood clots.
Weighty stomach pain.
But generally curettage does not cause serious problems if done with the right procedure. Bleeding that occurs may be caused by tissue that is still left in the uterus, an injury to the uterus or vagina, and blood clotting disorders.
You can consult directly with an obstetrician to ensure this. The doctor will do a physical examination and may do an ultrasound.
Hopefully this answer can help. Regards.
