Postoperative Scar Care?
good evening, I have performed a TCC diagnostic operation on my left wrist, u003cstrongu003after 8 daysu003c/strongu003e The bandage on the surgical scar has not been opened yet. because, from the hospital, who did not consistently contact me. so it is always pushed back for control. so what is the right solution for me regarding this? do i remove the bandage myself? or how?
Postoperative wound care requires special attention to avoid complications such as serious infections. The bandage that covers your wound should be kept clean and dry, and should be changed every 1-2 days. You do not need to wait to be contacted by the hospital to treat the wound. However, if the distance between your residence and the hospital is far enough, you can change the bandage at the Puskesmas, or the nearest clinic.
You are not advised to change the bandage yourself, because the doctor or nurse caring for your wound not only changes the bandage but also evaluates your wound: whether there are signs of infection, or whether the stitches have been removed.
In addition to keeping your wounds clean, increase the consumption of foods that contain protein such as eggs, meat, fish, tofu, tempeh and nuts. for optimal wound healing.
Hope it is useful
