Proper Examination During Pregnancy?
I want to ask this morning, my wife is positively pregnant, for the first checkup at the doctor, what is checked?
Hello Imam, thank you for asking with HealthReplies.com.
At the first pregnancy check up at the doctor usually the doctor will do several checks, namely:
- Physical examination: The doctor will measure blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate, and perform other complete physical examinations, including examination of body mass index / BMI.
- Laboratory tests: Usually blood type, rhesus, hemoglobin / hb, blood sugar, hepatitis screening, syphilis screening, HIV screening, and so on will be done.
But of course not all checks must be done, before the doctor will ask about the willingness of pregnant women before carrying out these examinations. The decision remains in the hands of pregnant women whether to undergo all tests or just a few as needed.
It is better to routinely do a pregnancy check up in health personnel so that several examinations and screening can be done for the health of the mother and her fetus.
Thank you, hope that helps ..
