Recommended Daily Calcium Intake For 15 Years Of Age?
Is it good to drink milk with 600 mg of calcium 2x a day for 15 years of age? I’ve heard that it’s not good to consume too much calcium
Hi Ara, thank you for the question for HealthReplies.com
The recommended daily calcium intake for 15 years of age is 1300 mg / day. Therefore, consuming 600 mg of milk 2 times a day (1200 mg) cannot be said to be excessive. The amount of deficiency in your daily calcium needs (100 mg) can be obtained from the food you eat daily, for example from vegetables, nuts, fish, and so on. The best absorption of calcium occurs when calcium intake is not more than 500 mg per meal / drink.
The maximum daily calcium intake for 15 years of age is 3000 mg / day. Usually, people will not consume excessive amounts of calcium if only from food / drink that is consumed daily. Excess calcium can usually occur in people who take calcium supplements. Excess consumption of calcium can cause impaired absorption of other nutrients such as iron and zinc, cause constipation, increase the risk of urinary tract stones, increase the risk of prostate cancer (in men) and heart disease.
So much information from me, hopefully it will be enough to answer
