Recovery Time Of Fractured And Plastered Casts?
good afternoon, the bones in the sole of my foot (close to the index finger, middle finger and ring finger on the left foot) are cracked and casted. My doctor said the healing period would take approximately 8 weeks. The cast was only installed yesterday, approximately 24 hours ago. But I feel very uncomfortable with the use of this cast. u003cbr u003eMy doctor said I could take off the cast but I didn’t really understand the point (I went for treatment while on vacation abroad), could I take it off as I wanted or I could take it off and had to re-install it. Because I feel uncomfortable with this plaster cast. Thanks.
Hi Diamonds. Thank you for the question given.
Hard trauma such as falling or hitting hard objects can result in broken or fractured bones. There are several types of broken or cracked bones. Among them can be by installing a pen, using a pen or sling, it can also be by installing a cast. In the process of recovering broken / fractured bones, it can take several weeks for the bones to completely heal and can be used as usual.
For the installation of the cast itself can be an option for recovery of fractured bones. In use is not good if you open your own cast. Installation and opening of the cast should be done by a doctor and can be opened after being evaluated by a doctor and has been declared cured. The good thing you do too is: avoid lifting heavy loads or doing heavy activities using the feet, avoid getting exposed to water, keep moving the joints around the cast so that the joints are not stiff, avoid dirty. If you feel pain, there is swelling in the area on the cast you should also control to an orthopedic doctor / bone specialist for control and the doctor can recommend regular X-rays to assess the progress of bone healing.
