Red Rash On The Hands And Feet Is Dengue Fever?
Hello, I want to ask, first I wake up from sleep, then experience pain in the back of the eye, then a little longer, my body temperature rises, and fever and headaches, I try to take medication for fever and headaches, then at night my fever down, and there appears a red rash on the hands and feet, I think it is an allergic reaction to the drug, and the rash is increasing, but only limited to both hands and feet, are these symptoms of dengue fever or dengue fever ,? But I did not experience joint or muscle pain.
Hello Kevin Wijaya, thank you for asking at HealthReplies.com.
Not all fever with rashes is caused by dengue fever or dengue hemorrhagic fever. Fever with a rash can also be caused by:
Skarlet fever (associated with throat infections, accompanied by high fever and red rashes on the folds of the body)
Dengue hemorrhagic fever or dengue fever
It is advisable to check yourself into a health facility that can check complete blood (especially platelet counts), or you can also do a supporting examination of NS1 (detecting the presence of NS1 protein in the body, where positive results indicate the presence of acute dengue virus infection). While it is recommended to take paracetamol as a fever-lowering agent, it can be accompanied by a warm water compress. Drink enough mineral water (at least 2 liters per day), eat nutritious food. The danger signs to look out for are: the body feels increasingly weak, unable to eat / drink, tightness, enlarged abdomen, or any signs of spontaneous bleeding: for example nosebleeds, black bowel droppings, black vomit, especially on 3-5 days fever (can be accompanied by a decrease in fever), immediately go to the nearest emergency department if you experience these symptoms.
All of our suggestions and answers, hopefully useful, good night.
