, this year I experienced weight loss. I used to weigh 50-52 kg and now it ranges from 48.5 to 49.5 kg. I often experience flatulence, and diarrhea. Treated with antibiotics, diarrhea medication cured but relapsed again and the diagnosis was GEA. But my body doesn’t feel fever. I observe my body has red spots but when I push the red spots disappear, and sometimes feel nauseous. Do I need to have a blood test to confirm my illness? Or need another check?

Hello, RDA, thank you for asking HealthReplies.com.

Diarrhea can be interpreted as a chapter that is more soft / liquid than usual. The causes of diarrhea can vary, ranging from infection by viruses / bacteria / parasites, intestinal inflammation, impaired absorption of certain substances, consumption of substances that increase bowel movements, psychological factors, etc. In diarrhea that recurs within more than 4 weeks, the causes that can be thought of are IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome), Inflammatory Bowel Disease, celiac disease, malabsorption, thyroid hormone disorders, etc.

To determine the cause, it is necessary to direct examination by a doctor, as well as supporting examinations, such as stool analysis and complete blood count. Stool analysis can see the shape, dilution, color, parasites / germs, to the particles in your stool. On further suspicion, radiographic examination (X-ray), colonoscopy, to a more complete blood test (such as hormone testing) can be performed.

So, consult your doctor about the condition of your diarrhea that is often repeated so that the cause can be found. In addition, re-evaluate your eating / drinking habits (whether they are clean enough, ripe, not allergic, not foods that are irritating to the digestive tract such as spicy foods), control stress, and avoid smoking and alcohol.

Make sure you get enough fluids and nutrients. Avoid dehydration (lack of fluids) by consuming ORS every time you defecate. If you experience symptoms such as weakness, stomach ache, bloody chapter, black chapter, fever, palpitations, you should not delay seeing a doctor.

That's all, hopefully it's useful.

Regards.
