Red Spots Appear After Consumption Of Milk In Infants?
, my child is 4.5 months old. Just started drinking formula milk, because my breast milk receded. Well the day after being given formula milk my son’s head neck hands red spots. Is it due to milk allergy?
Hello Ahdyani, thank you for asking at HealthReplies.com.
Read the complaints experienced by your child, it can indeed be caused by an allergic reaction to one of the components in formula milk consumed (can be allergic to lacotosa, but can also be on other components), but can also be caused by other conditions such as allergic reactions due to weather / other ingredients used on your child's body, prickly heat or scabies.
To ascertain whether your child has an allergic reaction to cow's milk or not, it is advisable to check your child's complaints further with a pediatrician for evaluation. After an evaluation, the doctor will determine the drugs or other recommendations that should be given and carried out to your child to overcome these complaints.
In the meantime, in addition to checking the complaint to the doctor, you can also try to stop giving formula milk and return to breastfeeding as much as you can (either by letting your child suckle directly and be pumped) until there is further advice from the doctor. If indeed breast milk is really very little / very difficult to produce, you can try to replace the formula milk with lactose-free milk such as soy milk according to your child's age.
It is not recommended to give medicines, both oral and topical medication in your child's current condition to avoid worsening the condition and medication errors.
I hope this helps.
