Red Spots On The Skin Of The Feet And Hands Like Dengue Fever?
I want to ask a question. 3 days ago I was bitten by an animal while jumping in the sand at school. The next 2 days I got canker sores all over my mouth and red spots on my feet and hands. I was afraid it was dengue fever, but my platelets were high and I didn’t have a fever. please guide
Hi Adi, thanks for asking at HealthReplies.com. Dengue fever is a disease caused by a virus carried by mosquitoes. As the name implies, the main symptom of dengue fever is fever. So when you don't have a fever, your doctor will not consider dengue fever as the main cause, especially when your platelets are still above 200.
Then regarding the red spots that appear on the skin, this can be caused by various things, including:
Allergies Insect bites Bacterial or fungal skin infections Smallpox Measles Sexually transmitted diseases
So actually in your case, when you realize the appearance of the spots is after being bitten by an animal, then that is most likely the cause. Our advice is that you consult a general practitioner or a dermatologist and venereal specialist to get the right treatment for your condition. Meanwhile, you can take antihistamine drugs that you can get at the nearest pharmacy, of course, by reading the instructions for use listed. I hope you and your family are always healthy.
That's all, hope it helps.
