Red Spots On The Tongue And Red Bumps Like Thrush On The Base Of The Tongue?
Morning, I want to ask. I am 24 years old, TB / BB 171 / 55kg. When I want to clean my tongue, I accidentally use my Mobile flashlight to see some red spots on the tongue. You also don’t know when the Red Spots appeared on some parts of the tongue (like smaller meat / can be touched using your hands, like zits).
Hello Feby ... Thank you for the question.
Under normal circumstances there are small bumps on the surface of the tongue, called the papillae of the tongue. This papilla has a function to help taste, both sweet, bitter, sour, or salty. In this papilla there are taste nerves so that when we eat it will taste the flavor variants that exist in food. There are 4 types of papilla types, they are: papilla fungiforn, papillary filiform, papilla circumvallata, and papilla foliate. These papillae have varying sizes, so you can see that those red spots are normal tongue papillae on every human tongue.
However, this papilla can also be enlarged under circumstances:
Increased gastric acid / GERD
Infection, or tongue biting habits
Eat foods that are too hot or sour
While flatulence can occur due to increased stomach acid, gastritis, heartburn. Symptoms that are often felt are: heartburn, bloating, feeling full quickly, nausea, vomiting. For that you should eat regularly, avoid smoking and consuming caffeine, avoid stress because stress can increase stomach acid, avoid spicy and sour foods, and eat regularly.
If your complaint still persists, there is injury or pain in the tongue then it is better for you to see a doctor of internal medicine so that the doctor can do a direct examination and can find out the exact cause of your complaint.
