Reddish Bumps On Skin After Being Bitten By An Insect?
Hello, I am a 19 year old woman, when I was sleeping in my room, in the morning my hands, head, arms were swollen, like insect bites and it has been 2 days, how do I get rid of the swelling that leaves this itchiness?
Good evening, thanks for the question
Insect bite reaction is a reaction of immunity to the skin due to bites and contact with insects. Complaints in the form of itching, discomfort, pain, redness, tenderness, warmth or swelling in the area of the body bitten at a location that is generally not covered by clothes.
Symptoms on the skin can include bumps or nodules that are surrounded by a reddish area, in the middle of the point visible puncture / bite marks, and scratch marks can be found due to itching.
To deal with acute reactions, bite inflammation can be reduced by washing the bite area with water and soap, and compressing it with ice. If the complaint is classified as mild without systemic symptoms (tightness, throbbing chest, swelling throughout the body), then the treatment needed is a moderate potential topical corticosteroid to reduce local inflammation on recommendation. Then can also be given anti-histamine class drugs as anti-allergic.
Make further consultations with your doctor to be able to do the examination, type and dosage of the appropriate drug. To prevent the recurrence of similar complaints can be with the following:
1. Maintain cleanliness of the living environment.
2. Wear long-sleeved clothes and long pants to avoid insect bites.
3. Use an anti-mosquito lotion if needed.
That's all, hope you can help
