Regarding 2 Types Of Antibiotics?
My child was given Zibramax syrup, I was googling containing Azithromycin. Question: Is Azithromycin part of Streptomycin?
Thank you for the question.
Azithromycin and streptomycin, although both are classified as antibiotics, but different types. Azithromycin belongs to the macrolide class of antibiotics, while streptomycin belongs to the aminoglycoside class of antibiotics. With a different way of working, each of these drugs is useful in eradicating bacteria that cause infections, such as respiratory infections, eye infections, skin infections, genital infections, urinary tract infections, even infections of the brain and its membranes.
As with other antibiotic variations, both azithromycin and streptomycin belong to the class of hard drugs. Therefore, the use of this drug should not be done haphazardly, but must be with a doctor's prescription and supervision. So, more complete information relating to your question should be asked directly to the doctor who prescribed it ..
I hope this helps.
