dB or decibel is the international symbol used to denote the intensity of a sound unit. Hearing loss is classified based on a person's perception of sound. Normal hearing can pick up sound intensity <20 dB, while hearing loss can pick up sound intensity between 21-90 dB, whereas in hearing impaired people can only perceive sound intensity> 90 dB and sometimes it is captured as vibrations only.
