Regarding Tetanus Immunization For 7 Months Pregnant Women?
I want to ask if I have injected TT before marriage and after marriage I am pregnant and when I want TT3 in December 2019 outside of Java I am not permitted to accept the injection of TT from elementary school so I don’t need it anymore, and when I return to Java I am asked again for my immunization and I answer the same because I have not been denied this even though my womb is already 28week in March 2020, according to the doctor, how do I need to stay immunized or not? Please answer yes
Hello Fitria, thank you for asking at HealthReplies.com.
TT injection for pregnant women is indeed an injection that is recommended to be done to prevent the occurrence of tetanus in infants which can be done up to 5x with the following conditions:
TT 1 can be the first injection of protection against tetanus (generally given before pregnancy) TT 2 is given 4 weeks after the TT 1 injection where this TT 2 injection can provide protection against tetanus for the next 3 years TT 3 is given 6 months after TT 2 is given where the TT injection 3 can provide protection for the next 5 years TT 4 is given 1 year after TT 3 to provide protection for the next 10 years TT 5 is given 1 year after TT 4 to provide protection for more than 25 years The giving of this injection is recommended to be done at least 2x ( TT1 and TT2) bil the status of previous maternal tetanus immunization is clear / regular, but it is recommended a minimum of 3x (TT1, TT2, and TT3) if the maternal tetanus immunization status is unclear.
Due to your regular immunization status based on the assessment of the doctor who handles you at this time, then based on the provisions you do not need TT3 injections, but if you still want to get it, it is highly recommended to consult further with your obstetrician.
I hope this helps.
