Hi Raden, thank you for the question for HealthReplies.com

Blood type is determined by the presence of antigen A and antigen B on the surface of a person's red blood cells. A person can have blood type A if there is antigen A on the surface of the red blood cell, blood type B if there is antigen B on the surface of the red blood cell, blood type AB if there is antigen A and antigen on the surface of the red blood cell, while blood type O if on the surface of the red blood cells there is no A or B antigen. The presence of this antigen is determined by the ABO gene that is passed down from its parents.

A person can have blood type AB if they have genes IA and IB (for convenience, hereinafter will be called genes A and B or AB), while someone can have blood group B if they have genes IB and IB (for simplicity, hereinafter will be called genes B and B or BB) or IB and i (for simplicity hereinafter referred to as genes B and O or BO). The pattern of inheritance of blood group genes in children is highly dependent on the type of genes possessed by parents whose blood type is B.

If the gene owned by one parent is AB and the gene owned by the other parent is BB, then the chances are that 50% of your child can have the gene for blood type AB (and blood type AB) and 50% of your child can have the blood group gene. B (and blood group B).

If the gene owned by one parent is AB and the gene owned by the other parent is BO, then the chances are 25% of your child can have the gene for blood type AB (and blood group AB), 25% of your child can have the blood group gene AO (and blood type A), 25% of your children can have the gene for blood group BB (and blood group B), 25% of your child can have the gene for blood group BO (and blood type B).

So much information from me, hopefully it will be enough to answer.
