Regarding The Process Of Parkinson’s Disease?
Hello, I’m Nanda. R nI want to ask about Parkinson’s disease. How is the mechanism of a course of Parkinson’s disease or what is commonly called pathogenesis? R nPlease answer yes. Thank you in advance for the answer
Hello, good afternoon Nanda.
Parkinson's disease is an age-related degenerative disease. This disease is characterized by the presence of tremors / shaking when resting, stiffness, slow movement, disturbed gait, and instability of posture.
In short, Parkinson's disease occurs due to a disruption in the balance of dopamine chemical compounds, due to damage to an area in the brain called the substantia nigra (can be due to age, free radicals from cigarettes and alcohol, etc.). Dopamine here functions as an intermediary medium to send messages from the brain to the nerves and muscles in the body. If the amount of dopamine decreases (as experienced in people with Parkinson's), then brain activity will be disrupted, affecting the muscles of the body.
That's all, hope it helps.
Greetings, dr. Denisa
