Regarding The Results Of Liver Function Tests In Patients With Hepatitis?
Dear Sirs,rnI am a hepatitis C patient for 6 months of treatment with interferon and ribavirin, the vibroscan result was 6.7 kPa with hepatitis C comment, in one year of treatment the vibroscan result became 5.5 kPa with hepatitis B comment, because many patients have vibroscan hepatitis I forgot to change my B comment to hepatitis C, what I want to ask is, is there any effect of the wrong comment on my vibroscan results? thank you
Fibroscan is a form of transient elastography which is expected to describe the level of liver damage and its progress.
Your fibroscan results seem to reflect the changes that are getting better. 90-95% of normal people have a fibroscan result of <7.0 kPa. While your results are at 5.5 kPa.
But keep in mind that, fibroscan results alone can not be a benchmark for liver damage. The best examination is a liver biopsy. in combination with other tests.
Changes from hepatitis C to hepatitis B you also need to ask further at the place where you get this fibroscan checked. Technical error is most likely for this, but it would be better if it was confirmed again.

So, hope it helps
