Regular Check-ups At 6 Months Of Pregnancy?
Hey.. I have a question? I’m pregnant with my 2nd child and I’m now 6 months pregnant, and the midwife says my baby is starting to enter the pelvis and early labor can occur… And from this month on, I have to have check-ups every 2 weeks! When I’m pregnant for the first time, it’s usually every 2 weeks when I’m 8 months pregnant, but how come it’s so fast that I’m only 6 months old and I’ve started checking every 2 weeks!
Basically, pregnant women are strongly advised to carry out pregnancy control so that the condition of pregnancy and the fetus can be monitored properly. Pregnancy control (ANC / antenatal care) should ideally be carried out at least 8 times, once every 1 month during the 1-2 trimester, then every 2 weeks starting at 7-8 months of age. When it has started to enter term (37-40 weeks) then ideally pregnancy checks are carried out once every week.
There are several conditions that make pregnant women should do more frequent pregnancy control, namely:
There is a possibility of giving birth prematurely Pregnant over 35 years Having complications in pregnancy Having a history of certain diseases such as diabetes, high blood pressure, anemia, asthma In your case, the midwife may assess the possibility of premature birth in you, therefore you are advised to do pregnancy control more often. You should follow the midwife's advice so that the condition of the pregnancy is better monitored. And if possible I suggest to do a pregnancy control with a gynecologist as well.
