Hello doc, when I experience gastric acid, my throat is not feeling good 5 days, it doesn’t heal. Finally I went to the doctor, I was allergic too, and was given 500 mg amoxicillin trihydrate and 4 mg methylprednisolone along with other drugs. I bought two more drugs of the same type, can I take it? I’m afraid not to drink too much.

1 Answer:

Hello Elis,

Thank you for the question.

Acid produced in the stomach can sometimes rise (reflux) and irritate the throat, causing the throat to feel uncomfortable. It could also be that discomfort in your throat arises due to other factors, for example irritation, allergies, viral or bacterial infections, excessive vocal cord stretching, exposure to dry air, benign or malignant tumors, avoid side effects of certain types of drugs. The steps you took previously were right, namely by going to the doctor directly, so that your condition can be given appropriate treatment according to the underlying cause.

However, of course the handling of doctors alone cannot walk alone. In order for your complaints to heal more optimally, in addition to undergoing treatment your good doctor:

Be more diligent in eating and drinking warm, avoid spicy foods, oily, and excessive artificial sweetness Expand to eat fruits that contain high vitamin C Do not ever contact with fans or air conditioners, use a water humidifier if necessary Don't first talk let alone shout too much Expand at home, except emergency. Always use a mask if you have to get out. Stay away from smoke, dust, pollution, cigarettes, animal hair, and other things that are prone to triggering strep throat Regular exercise and live a healthy lifestyle so that the immune system remains good If in more than 3 days after undergoing treatment the doctor is balanced with the steps above your complaints do not subside, you are not advised to carelessly buy back the doctor's medicine before. Because, the medicine your doctor gives (that is, antibiotics and anti-inflammatory classes) does not include over-the-counter medicines, so it is only appropriate to be consumed with a doctor's prescription.

It's safer, go back and check it back to the doctor or ENT doctor for further treatment.

I hope this helps.
