Root Canal Treatment And Dental Fillings?
I was 18 years old before I cut gums that cover my teeth in broad holes, the doctor offered 2 options to make an option. 1 tooth could be patched one week ahead, option 2 new teeth could be patched after undergoing dental nerve treatment. According to my doctor, which option should I choose? And if I choose option 1 someday if the patches come off or want to fill the inside of the empty tooth, can that work?
Hello Windy, Thank you for the question.
Root canal treatment is an action taken to treat the inside of an infected tooth. Tooth symptoms that indicate an infection are toothache when exposed to food and drink, toothache when biting or chewing, or tooth shake. Whether you need dental treatment or not depends on the results of the doctor's examination. If the doctor finds an infection in the root canal and the inside of the tooth, the doctor will recommend taking root canal treatment and not recommend patching immediately. After undergoing dental root canal treatment, the teeth will be patched with temporary fillings. After the root canal treatment is complete, the new dentist will make permanent fillings. However, if the dentist gives you two choices, then you might need to ask the dentist again about the exact condition of your teeth. If there is indeed an infection, of course undergoing root canal treatment will be better.
Dental fillings are the act of filling cavities with hard material that resembles teeth. This action will fill the cavities / empty teeth. If you choose choice one or choice two it will be the same because both of these choices are ultimately dental filling procedures, the difference in the second choice begins with root canal treatment.
The right step now is to re-consult with your dentist to ensure the condition of your teeth. If you are still unsure, you can consult with another dentist to ask for other opinions about your condition.
Meanwhile, please keep your teeth clean by brushing your teeth regularly twice a day and use dental floss to help clean teeth. Please limit the consumption of foods and drinks that are sweet / high in sugar.
I hope this helps.
