Hello Agita Risky Primawati,

Clomiphene citrate is a drug that can be used to treat infertility in women. Clomiphene triggers the production of the gonadotropin hormone by the pituitary gland in the brain which will stimulate the release of eggs from the ovaries (ovulation).

Clomiphene is consumed on the 3rd / 4th / 5th day of menstruation, at a dose of 1 tablet (50 mg) per day. Medication should be taken at the same time every day to prevent forgetting to take medicine. The dosage and method of administration of clomiphene are generally adjusted to the patient's condition and the patient's response to treatment. The use of clomiphene should not exceed 6 menstrual cycles.

Side effects of taking clomiphene are as follows:

Flushing of the face (redness and warmness)
Endometriosis
Nausea and vomiting
Gastric pains
Breast pain
Blurred vision

Clomiphene can also be used in the management of infertility in men, menstrual disorders, breast fibrocysts, and stopping excessive breast production. The administration of this drug should be avoided in patients with ovarian cysts, abnormal uterine bleeding, liver disorders, pituitary tumors, thyroid disorders.

Usually after taking the drug clomiphene the doctor will recommend having sex during ovulation / fertility. If after consuming clomiphene and ovulating as many as 3 cycles and having sexual intercourse regularly but not also pregnant, another examination is needed to find out other causes of infertility that you may experience or your husband. Doctors also need to evaluate after administration of clomiphene, for example through examination of LH (luteinizing hormone) levels, if there is an increase, it is expected within 24-48 hours after ovulation will occur. If ovulation does not occur during the first cycle of clomiphene, the doctor may increase the dose to 100 mg / day in the second cycle.

Try to consult again with the obstetrician whether you need to repeat the consumption of clomiphene or need to adjust the dose of the drug for administration in the next cycle. Thus the explanation from me, hopefully useful.
