Rules For Consumption Of Supplements When Stubborn?
Hello, may I take boron supplements at 3mg / day when I have cough and common cold?
Hello Agung S.G. Suwargana,
Boron is a mineral element that can be obtained from food (green vegetables, fruits, nuts) and the environment (sea, rocks, soil, and plants). Boron is in supplement form. Boron consumption is believed to provide benefits such as preventing boron deficiency, relieving menstrual pain, overcoming fungal infections in the vagina, improving cognitive function in the elderly, reducing symptoms of osteoarthritis. More medical research is still needed to conclude the effectiveness and benefits of boron supplements for the body.
The limit of boron intake per day for adults is a maximum of 20 mg / day. Boron is considered safe when consumed in low doses (there are not enough studies). Side effects that may arise after taking this supplement are:
Nausea and vomiting
Stool color change
Kidney damage if used at high doses
If allergic or side effects arise that interfere with immediate activity, stop consuming boron and see a doctor. Boron supplement consumption should be avoided in patients with kidney disorders, cancer sufferers, patients receiving estrogen therapy. Take the medicine according to the instructions listed on the package. There is no prohibition on taking boron supplements in the case of a cold cough. Thus the explanation from me, may be useful.
