Rules For Taking Antibiotics?
Good evening, I am taking antibiotics for 4 days, recommended twice a day. I took medicine for the first 2 days (because of fasting) at 7 pm and 12 pm. For the 3rd day it was a bit late the first hour at 8.30 and the second hour 00.30 at this time I had vomited after taking this drug. And today I drink at 12 noon. What I want to ask. Are there rules such as how long is the time required for the rules to take antibiotics? Is it like if today drink at 7 pm, for tomorrow must drink at 7 pm too? thank you
Hello. Thank you for the question submitted to HealthReplies.com. We can understand the concern you feel.
In general, determining the time to take medication is based on the half-life of the drug in the body. If the drug is instructed to be taken 2 times a day, it is generally recommended to give a distance of about 12 hours between antardoses. Drinking time every day is also recommended to be always the same so that drug levels in the body are maintained to support optimal drug performance.
In connection with the fasting that you run, of course modifications are needed to adjust the time of taking medicine. For drugs that need to be taken 2 times a day, you can use the first dose at the end of the sahur time (around 4am), then use the next dose at the beginning of breaking the fast (around 6pm).
It's just that, changes in drug schedules and doses certainly have the potential to influence the therapeutic effect of drugs. Therefore, you still need to consult first with your treating doctor. Your doctor may reconsider the type and dosage of the drug given to you to adjust to the condition of fasting that you are on.
Thus information from us. Hopefully always healthy. May be useful.
