Rules For Taking MDT Medication For Leprosy Treatment?
Good morning, sorry to disturb r nI want to ask, right? When we take MDT medicine, it must be in accordance with the day stated on the medicine right? I should have taken the medicine on the 9th day but I took it on the 15th day, is there any effect beside him? and do I have to drink on the 9th day again in a row, so when it’s already on the 14th day I should drink it on the 15th day, but because I drank the wrong thing and I drank directly on the 15th day, So, after the 14th day, will I immediately drink the 16th day? r nPlease explain r nThank you
The MDT drug aims to cure the infection caused by leprosy. This treatment takes about 6 months to 2 years, depending on the type of leprosy you have. The types of MDT treatment also vary, but have the same principle, namely one drug strip is intended to be consumed for 28 days, where on day 1 the drug consists of rifampin and dapsone (especially for the multibacillary type of leprosy there is an additional drug clofazamin). whereas on day 2-28 the drug contains only dapsone (for popeibacillary leprosy) and a combination of dapsone and clofazamine (for multibacillary leprosy sufferers).
In other words. the contents of the drug on day 9 and day 15 were the same. So if accidentally on the 9th day you take the medicine for the 15th day, then on the 15th day it doesn't matter if you take the medicine for the 9th day. On the 16th day onwards you can continue taking the drug according to the usual rules.
so, hopefully useful
