Safe Dose Of Nasal Spray?
morning, I had a cold for about 4 days and was given medicine by my doctor Nasonex which was used 3 times a day per 2x spray. is it still safe to use more than 2x a day?
Hello Shara, thank you for asking HealthReplies.com.
Let me introduce myself, Dr. Rio will try to answer your question.
Nasonex nasal spray is a nasal spray that contains mometasone furoate. Mometasone is a class of corticosteroids, which can function as an anti-inflammatory drug, such as for allergies, pain, etc. The way this drug works is to relieve inflammation in certain locations. This medicine can be used for the long term. But it must be in accordance with doctor's instructions. Regarding the use of medication dosages adjust to the recommendations given by your doctor, do not reduce or add the dose yourself because it will affect the work of the drug.
Cold symptoms can be experienced by everyone. Colds are a sign of inflammation in the nose. The nose will produce more secretions when an inflammatory reaction occurs there. Some diseases that can be related to colds are:
Allergic Rhinitis. Common cold. Bacterial rhinitis. Treatment given will adjust the cause of a cold. At the cause of bacterial infection antibiotics will be given. Whereas in allergic sufferers must avoid the trigger factors. Whereas in the common cold the patient must get plenty of rest so that the body's immunity can fight the virus easily.
Right now what you can do is:
Use a mask when you have a cold or sneeze, to reduce the risk of transmission. Don't blow your nose too tight. Take medications regularly and as directed by your doctor. Get enough rest and take care of your diet. Consult your doctor if complaints persist and get worse. That's all the answers I can give. Thank you good luck always :)
