Safety Of Cough Medicines Containing Oxomemazine, Guaifenesin And Methylprednisolone For Nursing Mothers?
I bought cough medicine at the pharmacy, I was given Ooxin and Toras. I’m not sure if I want to drink because I’m breastfeeding, is it safe or not?
Coughing is one of the symptoms that can arise due to a disturbance in the respiratory tract. The cause of cough itself can be caused by various kinds such as allergies, infections, bronchitis, asthma and others.
The drug you mentioned contains oxomemazine, guanfenesin and metiprednisolone which need consideration in its use in both pregnant and lactating women. It's a good idea to see a doctor to determine what caused your cough and later you will be given therapy according to your condition. Due to different causes, different therapy needs to be given. Also inform the doctor that you are breastfeeding so that later it will be given therapy that is safe for you.
I hope this helps.
