Seizures Without Fever?
Hello, nMy child is 3y2m, before the first fever seizure was 9 months old 2x, next is 2 years old 1x. but the first seizure without fever was at the age of 3 years 1 month to be exact on July 11 2018 when I was going to bed and after the seizure did not immediately have a fever, the fever only appears after a break of a day or two if I remember correctly. At that time I went straight to a neurologist’s pediatrician and was prescribed just vitamins while taking care not to have seizures again and providing fever medicine at home. But on August 6, 2018, my son had another seizure when he wanted to sleep and didn’t have a fever after that. The doctor told Eeg Hasilx to have generalized epileptogenic waves, he said and was prescribed 2.4 ml of valproric acid twice a day for a year. But after reading here I am afraid of the side effects of growth, and if the drugs don’t work, the seizures will get worse. Please explain what should be done.
From the information you have conveyed, if the results of your neurologist's examination indicate an epileptogenic wave, and the doctor provides treatment according to the plan given, then you should be able to continue this doctor's plan.
Every medical drug has side effects that are not expected, however, when the drug is given at therapeutic doses, side effects can be minimized. Therefore, if you have given trust in your care to your doctor, then you can give this trust to your doctor. You can also do this by discussing with the doctor who treats your child.
If you get information from here and there, whether on the internet, other people are not doctors or medical personnel, then you should discuss it with the doctor who treats your child, especially if you are worried about it. In addition, you can also do a second opinion or the opinion of a pediatrician with other neurologists. With a second opinion, other doctors can evaluate the results of the examination and the treatment plan for the patient.
If you are not calm in caring for your child, then you will always be anxious and you will not be able to do the treatment optimally.
If these epileptogenic waves are not treated properly, this will cause disruption in the development of your child.
Therefore, convince yourself, and discuss with your doctor, and consult if there is a disturbing complaint.
That's all we can convey, read also valproic-acid.
