Shortness Of Breath When You Feel Anxiety?
Good afternoon :))) I’m 22 years old and have a phobia of being afraid of heights. Lately, if I have a lot of thoughts about why I’m always short of breath, and I’m also more anxious now thinking about things in the future that sometimes don’t matter, and that makes my breath tight as well. Does that include anxiety disorder? Can I take medicine for shortness of breath? Please answer, thank you :)))
Good morning, thanks for asking at HealthReplies.com. The condition that you experience can be caused by various things, which before we do the examination, the physical cause we still cannot get rid of.
Physically, it could be that what you experience is a condition of asthma, stomach acid disease or pneumonia. For stomach acid disease, the symptoms can be in the form of tightness, and the condition itself can be triggered by stress.
Mentally, what you experience can be a panic attack, total anxiety disorder, conversion hysteria, or other forms of phobias, such as social phobia or agoraphobia. What is clear, the history of phobia of altitude that you have does increase the risk of other mental disorders.
Our advice, consult your problem with a psychologist, psychiatrist, or at least to a general practitioner if the two professionals are not possible. This is important because every medical complaint, whether physical or mental, needs to be confirmed through examination to be able to get a definitive diagnosis and treatment.
So if you want to consume shortness of medicine, it is OK but later if it is from the results of the examination, the complaint that you experience is a physical complaint. Because if you take shortness of medication but the complaint is based on mental, the medicine will not work. Even working, this will not solve the main problem and make this condition can be repeated in the future. Because it's important to check yourself immediately.
Meanwhile, train yourself to be more calm by doing breathing exercises, inhaling aromatherapy, listening to soft music, bathing or soaking in warm water, living a healthy lifestyle, and sharing your feelings with those closest to you or in written form. So, hopefully answering your question.
