Should A Biopsy Be Done On A Lump In The Arm That Doesn’t Heal?
Night .. About a week ago I had a lump in my arm. Then I checked in the clinic saying it was okay .. Every day routine therapy but the pain got worse. Finally I decided to move clinic. Well in the second clinic I was asked by the doctor if I ever hit something ?, I don’t think I’ve answered. Then the doctor said he had an x ray. My x ray results are good. The doctor prescribed the drug within 7 days if it still hurts he said I had to have a biopsy test .. Fear of cancer or tumors. I want to ask if it’s really like that … Sorry I’m in Taiwan now, not in Indonesia
Hello, thank you for asking with HealthReplies.com.
A tumor is a lump that can occur in any part of the body. Tumors can be benign or malignant. This malignant tumor is called cancer.
Lumps on the arm can be caused by several things, namely:
- Ganglion cysts. Cysts that form in the joints or tendons, such as the hands, fingers, or wrists.
- Lipoma. It is a fatty tissue tumor in the form of lumps that are soft, painless, springy, and often non-irritating.
- and others.
To determine whether a lump in the hand is dangerous or not, the doctor will usually conduct interviews, physical examinations, and supporting examinations (such as hand X-ray images, CTscan, MRI, blood tests, etc.). Biopsy examination is also important to see changes in the shape of the tissue and cells in the lump to determine whether the lump originates from a malignant or benign cell.
Here's what you can do at home: avoid smoking, avoid consuming alcoholic beverages, get enough rest, manage stress well, consume enough water, increase fruit and vegetable consumption, exercise regularly, maintain your ideal body weight, and do the pattern other healthy lives.
Thank you, hope that helps ..
