Side Effects After Appendicitis?
Night, I am 24 years old … I just had appendicitis surgery … I want to ask … how much time does it take for my body to get 100% fit and get back to doing activities and exercising … And will there be any long-term side effects from the operation .. Thank you …
Hello M. Rifanov, thank you for asking.
Basically appendicitis surgery (appendicitis infection) is not a type of severe surgery, except if your appendicitis causes extensive infection of the abdominal cavity accompanied by adhesions. Appendicitis can be acute or chronic. Not all appendicitis will cause widespread infection of the abdominal cavity. Extensive infections occur when appendicitis is so severe that the appendix ruptures and secretes pus and bacteria into the abdominal cavity.
We do not know your condition before and after surgery. However, if your surgery runs smoothly without complications, generally you can return home within 1-3 days after surgery. If there is no restriction from the doctor, you can do your normal activities. In the meantime, avoid activities like strenuous exercise, heavy lifting, and physically strenuous activities. At least for 1-2 weeks. After that, if by the time you control the doctor, you have been declared good, then please move normally but gradually. Please note, that the healing time of each person is certainly different, depending on general conditions, diet, and lifestyle.
There is no long-term effect of the operation, if the operation goes well. However, there may be a risk of a hernia in a scar, many years later. Of course this will not happen.
Hopefully this answer is quite useful. Regards.
