Good night..I want to ask what is the effect if we don’t regularly take birth control pills?

1 Answer:

Hello, Thank you for the question.

Birth control pills are contraceptives that contain synthetic / artificial hormones used to prevent pregnancy. Birth control pills work to prevent pregnancy by preventing ovulation, thicken vaginal mucus so that it is difficult for sperm to enter the uterus, and cause the uterine wall to become thin so that the fertilized product cannot stick to the uterine wall. Birth control pills should be taken every day at the same time as recommended. Birth control pills must be taken starting from hormone pills then followed by blank pills / placebo. If a woman does not regularly take birth control pills, they cannot prevent pregnancy and irregular menstruation / bleeding outside of menstruation can occur. If you don't want to have a baby, please take birth control pills regularly as recommended by your doctor. However, if you are not comfortable with birth control pills because you have to take them every day, you can choose other contraceptives such as birth control injections, birth control implants, or an intrauterine device (IUD). Please consult your obstetrician and gynecologist.
