Side Effects Of Decreased Testes?
Aslamualaikum doctor. I have to be 28 years old. I want to do a second surgery to decrease the testicles but the one testis has been lifted, now I want to do a decrease in the right testicle, any side effects if it is lowered.
Are you referring to orchiopexy surgery? The operation is intended to reduce the testicles that still exist in the abdominal cavity. Normally the testicles have descended into the testicle cavity when the fetus is in the third trimester in the final weeks. Testicles that do not descend into the scrotum (testicular sac) will pose a risk of decreased fertility. This happens because the temperature and the environment in the abdominal cavity are not suitable for the growth of sperm cells.
In every operation there is always a risk of surgery. The risks include:
Side effects due to anesthesia.
These side effects are not limited to certain operations, all operations have these side effects. Of course, side effects can be minimized with proper and hygienic surgical procedures.
Postoperatively, there is a possibility of swelling and pain in the scrotum. Avoid heavy activities, heavy lifting, driving for too long, and any sexual activity, during the healing period. The duration of healing depends on your condition, but generally ranges around a few weeks.
That is my explanation. May be useful. Regards.
