Side Effects Of Late Immunization?

afternoon, I want to ask. what if DPT 1 immunization is late and is given a baby who is 3.5 months old? when to return to DPT 2nd immunization? thank you

1 Answer:

Hello Putrinauraa, thank you for asking.

DPT vaccine is one of the mandatory vaccines that must be given to every baby. This is to prevent the emergence of diphtheria, pertussis, and tetanus in the community. This Vakin can be given singly or together with other types of vaccines. The minimum age to receive this vaccine is 6 weeks. IDAI recommends that the DPT vaccine begin at 2 months, followed at 3 and 4 months.

If your baby is late receiving DPT, then you try to keep giving the second and third vaccines at the same distance as recommended, which is an interval of one month. Babies may experience fever and fuss after immunization. You can prepare a fever-lowering medication if needed or give the baby a drink as often as possible to help reduce fever.

Hopefully this answer can help you. Regards.
