Similar To Herpes Sores On The Upper Thigh?
Hi, I’m 24 years old. A month ago, I had herpes on my upper lip (I have had herpes in the same place). I occasionally have oral sex with a partner. It has been 2 days in my groin there are blisters similar to herpes (redness, burning, heat, a little itching). Is that herpes? If so, what are the triggers (I’m not sexually active)? Should I ask for a doctor’s treatment? Until now I only applied acyclovyr. Information please. Thanks.
Good morning, thanks for the question
Herpes simplex is a viral infection that causes fluid-filled nodules due to herpes simplex virus (HSV). There are 2 types of herpes simplex, namely HSV 1 and 2. HSV-1 causes more lesions in nodules filled with fluid around the mouth and tongue. Whereas HSV-2 causes more lesions in the genital area such as the penis, buttocks, vagina, or ahus. But actually both HSV-1 or HSV-2 can cause both lesions around the mouth or genital. Other symptoms can include burning and itching in skin lesions, muscle aches, urinary disorders, or eye infections.
Transmission of HSV-1 in adults is through close contact with patients who have no symptoms or obvious lesions on the skin, for example by kissing, oral sex, touching the skin with skin lesions, or sharing personal items such as lip balm etc. Whereas HSV-2 is transmitted more through sexual contact. Besides transmission of HSV in children is through skin contact with adults who have been infected with HSV.
If you have been infected with HSV, the virus does not completely disappear from the body so symptoms can be recurrent or can reappear, but will be dormant in nerve cells. The virus will reactivate by being triggered by a number of conditions such as stress, menstruation, fever, sun exposure, or postoperative measures.
Therapy in this condition is with antiviral therapy which aims to relieve symptoms and accelerate the recovery of skin lesions. In this condition, do further consultation with your doctor for further physical examination to ascertain suspicion of HSV infection and to get adequate treatment.
That's all, hope you can help.
