Simultaneous Breastfeeding For Babies Aged 11 Months And Infants 15 Days?
Good evening, at the moment my first child is almost 11 months old, while my second child is 15 days old. Can I still feed my first child? Because I want it, they can still be breastfed until the age of 2 years.
Hello Ayunda, Thank you for the question.
Mother's milk (ASI) contains fat, protein, carbohydrates and vitamins needed by the baby as the main source of nutrition, especially during the first 6 months. Breast milk also has a number of health benefits for babies such as providing antibodies / immunity, containing growth hormones, helping the baby's digestion so that it can fight infection, increase heart development in premature babies. ASI is recommended to be given from babies born at least until the age of 6 months and can be continued until the baby is 2 years old. Therefore, of course you can continue breastfeeding your two children.
Please note also the recommended nutrition that you should consume to maintain the quality of breast milk:
consuming food sources containing good fats such as avocados, nuts, seeds
consume a variety of green vegetables
consume various sources of protein
increase the consumption of water
