Hello, thanks for the question.
Skin peeling or dandruff on the external ear is most often caused by seborrheic dermatitis, which is inflammation in certain parts of the body, especially hairy areas, such as the head or eyebrows, ears, to the body. The exact cause is still not known with certainty, but is thought to be triggered by genetic / hereditary factors, stress, air, humidity, or due to fungal infections. Seborrheic dermatitis can cause skin to become itchy, painful, until redness. Besides dermatitis, several other conditions that can cause similar complaints include:
Fungal skin infections
Infected wounds causing scabs like "crust"
Dematitis (eczema) arising from contact with allergens, such as earrings to the ear
To determine the cause and treatment, a direct examination is needed by the doctor. If the affected only outer skin can be consulted to a dermatologist but if complaints are felt to the inside of the ear to cause hearing loss, pain in the ear, or discharge from the ear should consult a ENT doctor. Handling will later be adjusted to the underlying cause. Some things you can do to reduce complaints include:
Keep skin clean, wash with soap and water every day.
Keep the area of the lesion moist using lotions or olive oil, etc.
Avoid scratching or grasping the lesion area
Doing activities or exercising outdoors in the sun every morning. Sunlight is considered to be able to inhibit the growth of trigger fungus
The use of foreign drugs, such as corticostreoid, antifungal, and sulfur products. This medicine should only be obtained by prescription from a doctor.
Thus, hopefully it helps.
