Small Bumps And Purulent After Being Bitten By An Insect?
Good night, I want to ask, my hands were bitten by insects during sleep, initially only a little bump but gradually changed into a small festering and then become large and spread, what is called a disease huh?
Hello Tri Wahyuni,
Insect bites can cause many forms of skin disorders. Symptoms that appear vary, ranging from itching to burning sensation as well. Insect bites in some people can also trigger allergic reactions such as urticaria, to other skin disorders such as dermatitis and cellulitis. The bumps that appear are the body's immune reaction to secretions / substances that are inserted by insects when biting.
Symptoms of insect bites include:
Bumps at the bite site, usually there is like a small dot in the middle of the bump. Certain types of insects such as tomcat will give a picture of small water-filled bumps like shingles
Redness around the bite marks
Itching, burning, heat, pain (varies)
Anaphylactic reactions such as angioedema (swelling on the lips or other mucosa), redness all over the body, weakness, redness on the cheeks, shortness of breath, fainting, and so on.
If you experience a bite from dangerous insects such as spiders or bee stings, you should consult a doctor, especially if signs of anaphylactic appear. If you have an insect bite, you should do the following:
Wash the insect bite area with soap and water
Do not scratch the area (especially if your hands are dirty) because it can cause other germ infections
To reduce the sensation of itching, you can use cold water compresses
Apply a cream that contains antihistamines and corticosteroids or usually the doctor will give oral medication containing antihistamines and corticosteroids to deal with heavy bumps and heavy itching.
Thus the explanation from me, may be useful.
