Hey starlight queen,

Thank you for asking HealthReplies.com.

In girls, the most rapid breast growth occurs when entering puberty, which is around the age of 9 to 15 years. This breast growth is characterized by an increasing size, a more supple and dense consistency, darkening of the nipple and areola, an expanding areola, and a breast that is more sensitive to touch or pressure.

Breast size is normally not exactly the same between the left and right. As long as this difference isn't too noticeable, it's generally nothing to worry about. Several factors can cause large or small breast sizes, namely genetics (congenital), hormonal disorders, benign or malignant tumors in the breast, abscesses or breast infections, sports and activities carried out, and so on.

Pain accompanied by the appearance of a lump in the breast can be a natural thing, for example due to fibrocystic changes in the breast parenchyma when the menstrual period arrives. This will generally improve on its own as your period ends.

However, the pain and lumps you are experiencing can also be caused by other causes, such as breast abscesses, breast cysts, breast skin infections (such as acne, folliculitis), to benign tumors (such as mammary fibroadenoma) or malignant (cancer). Of course this can trigger its own concerns.

Therefore, in order to answer your concerns, you should directly check the condition of your breasts to the doctor. That way, it can be known whether your complaint is still considered reasonable or requires special handling measures, for example by further examination, such as ultrasound, mammography, and so on.

In the meantime, always keep your breasts clean, by diligently bathing and wearing clean bras and clothes. Avoid over-pressing the breasts too often. When you feel pain, compress your breasts using warm water or take paracetamol to reduce the pain. Don't forget to eat nutritious and antioxidant-rich foods and do BSE (breast self-examination) regularly to avoid the risk of tumors in the breast.
