Small Spots Like Warts On The Penis?
At noon, on the head of my penis appeared a little “flesh-like specks of warts, I was advised to use the ointment PEDOFILOX. Are there any special rules for use? And what things should I pay attention to? Thank you
Podofilox is a trademark of medicine with podofilotoxin (plant poison) which is useful for treating warts. I will not discuss a particular product brand but I will discuss the treatment of warts.
Genital warts or warts are conditions caused by the HPV virus (human papilloma virus). HPV infection will cause excessive proliferation (growth) of keratin tissue (hard skin substances), causing prominent tissue or rough structures that protrude on the skin. Based on this, treatment of warts can be divided into:
Use of keratolytic topical drugs, these drugs to help erode and eliminate excess keratin
Cryotherapy or frozen surgery
The use of topical drugs is not recommended to be done on the mucous membranes (mucosa) such as the vagina, rectum or lips / mouth. Use of topical medicines can vary depending on the type. Podofilotoxin is generally recommended 2x a day for 3 consecutive days and stop using it for 4 days. Treatment can be continued for a maximum of 4 cycles or after no warts are seen.
Although your complaint may be caused by warts, it does not mean that the condition must be caused by warts and therefore I strongly recommend you to consult directly with your doctor to get treatment that is appropriate for the cause of your condition and avoid various side effects that can arise from treatment individually. You should also stop treatment if side effects or complaints arise to avoid the condition getting worse.
