Soft Lumps On The Back That Can Be Moved?
Hello, on my back there is a bulge that fits right in my spine, if the bulge is pressed run like a grease, I feel frequent low back pain and pain. Why is that? Thank you in advance doctor☺️
Good afternoon, thanks for the question
Any abnormal lump in the body is called a tumor. From the characteristics of the tumor itself can actually be distinguished which is likely to be benign and malignant. Lumps on the back are not always dangerous. However, if the lump changes in appearance, ulcers form, quickly enlarge, and cause pain, then you should immediately consult a doctor.
The following are the most common causes of bumps in the back, including:
1. Lipoma: benign tumor originating from fat tissue
2. Atheroma cyst: benign tumor originating from the oil gland
3. Epidermoid cyst: benign tumor due to a buildup of keratin
4. Neurofibroma: tumors originating from nerve cells
5. Hemangiomas: tumors originating from blood vessels
6. And so on
To find out the type of lump, a physical examination must first be done by a doctor. If it is suspected to be malignant then it needs further examination, namely tissue biopsy examination to confirm it. Not all types of benign tumors need to be removed. The surgical removal of the tumor mass aims to minimize the risk of the lump disrupting the surrounding structure, such as blood vessels, nerves, muscles, or bones. Some conditions also require the appointment to be indicated for cosmetic problems.
That's all, hope you can help.
