Solution The Tongue Hurts, Swells, And White Discharge Comes Out After Being Pierced?
Hello Diaz, Thank you for the question.
Have you checked your doctor? Have you recently had a tongue pierced or injured such as being bitten in the area that was pierced? If you have just had a tongue piercing procedure or if you have a wound on your tongue, your complaint may be caused by an infection in the wound or the area around the piercing by bacteria. Oral cavity contains a lot of bacteria so that if your oral cavity is lacking properly and coupled with the presence of wounds, then this wound is easily infected. Aside from bacterial infections, your complaints can also be caused by fungal infections or tongue cancer (however, usually tongue cancer will appear gradually).
You should check with an ENT specialist first. The doctor will ask further questions about this complaint then do a direct examination on your tongue. If a bacterial infection is suspected, the doctor will give antibiotics while if caused by a yeast infection, the doctor will give antifungal drugs. If this condition is suspected as an early form of cancer of the tongue, the doctor will recommend a biopsy (a sample of tongue tissue) to be examined in the laboratory.
