Hello wr. wb, So, I have been exposed to tuberculosis / lung infection since 7 months ago, and now I have finished treatment for 6 months. In a few months I was still in control and X-rayed. But after finishing treatment, I haven’t really felt healed, is it really like that? My chest is already not painful, but if for sneezing sometimes it hurts even more when sneezing, then it also feels like there is still a little lump in the back alias associated with lungs. Is it mediocre and is it like that after treatment? What should I do to overcome this? That’s all, thank you. Thank you wr.wb

Hello!

Thank you for the question on HealthReplies.com,

Tuberculosis is a disease condition caused by a bacterial infection of Micobacterium tuberculosis. Tuberculosis infection is transmitted through droplets and generally passes through a person's respiratory tract. The most commonly known place for tuberculosis infection is in the lungs, but tuberculosis infection can occur in other parts of the body such as lymph nodes, digestive system, spine, or brain.

In tuberculosis patients can be found symptoms of cough in a long duration, weight loss without apparent cause, cough can be accompanied by blood, fatigue, sweating at night, chest pain. In supporting tuberculosis examination, sputum examination and chest x-ray examination can be done to establish the diagnosis of tuberculosis. Tuberculosis treatment is a combination of drugs that have been determined, adjusted for type 1 or type 2 regimen based on the tuberculosis status of the patient (new patient, relapse, treatment failure). The duration of treatment generally requires 6 months or more.

To monitor the response of tuberculosis therapy sputum examination will be done after a certain duration of treatment. If the response is good until the end of treatment, no bacteria are found on the sputum examination and no abnormalities are found on the x-ray, then it will be declared cured by the treatment regimen.

Chest pain when sneezing is a natural phenomenon. However, if chest pain arises in a state of rest or after light exercise, chest pain is felt like pressing, puncturing, spreading to the back or part of the arm, it is advisable to immediately seek treatment and consult a doctor related to further examination and management.

Hopefully this information can help you,

Regards.
