Solution To Overcome Acne Never Disappear After The Use Of Facial Soap?
Hello. Doctor, I want to ask. So, a few times ago I changed my face soap because I think my previous facial soap didn’t match anymore because the pimples didn’t disappear. Yesterday after using this new facial soap I also used apple vinegar at a ratio of 1: 1. Today I see my face just turned worse. On the right cheek and the same chin, many pimples occur on the right cheek, also so red. Then according to the doctor, what should I do? What is the best solution? Do I have to stop using this new facial soap, and use the old one, or what? Explanation please. thanks.
It should be ascertained first of the causes of redness and new pimples appear on your cheeks whether due to skin irritation due to new soap or due to the use of apple vinegar. Does your soap contain acid or other exfoliants?
Apple vinegar is often used on the skin because it contains acetic acid which is believed to brighten the skin, smooth the skin, and help acne conditions.
However, apple cider vinegar is not cosmetic grade and is not intended for topical use on facial skin. Mixing apple cider vinegar and water by yourself does not guarantee the concentration of apple cider vinegar is safe enough and can be tolerated by every skin.
Because it contains acids, apple vinegar is irritative, and if the concentration is too high or sensitive skin, the use of apple vinegar can cause skin irritation. Some signs of skin irritation include dry skin, redness, peeling, sore, like burning, blistering, and sometimes pimples or bruntusan appear. Irritation will be more severe when the other skincare used is also irritating and exfoliating the skin.
For now you should stop using apple cider vinegar. Here are some tips you can do:
While avoiding skincare that contains acid, retinoids, scrubs, or active ingredients that are exfoliating / removing dead skin cells until the condition of the skin improves
Use hypoallergenic and gentle skincare
Use sunscreen in the morning
Use soothing cream or soothing gel to help soothe the skin
Use a moisturizer that suits your skin type
Don't squeeze pimples
Cold compresses on the skin, but do not compress ice directly on the skin
Do not rub the skin
Avoid sun exposure
If within 3 days to 1 week the skin condition has not improved or become more red and peeling, you should consult further with a dermatologist so that you can examine your skin condition and so you can be given further treatment and care.
If your skin then improves, you can try using new soap, if possible use only new soap on one side of your face for a few days to see the skin's reaction. If no irritation appears, the use of new soap can be continued. But if irritation appears again, you should use another soap that is more hypoallergenic.
Meanwhile, for apple vinegar, if your goal is to get the benefits of acid to remove dead skin cells, it would be better if you use skincare that does contain acids such as salicylic acid (to help acne), lactic acid, or glycolic acid to brighten and soften the skin . Keep doing a patch test (using on one side of the face for several days) every time you try a new skincare.
Hope it helps you,
