Sores On The Inner Cheek Wall.?
I want to ask on the left cheek wall on the left side close to the back of the teeth Gigi graham who suffered a wound said initially thought thrush but it was not and the hole was wounded. I am afraid that if taken to the hospital the treatment will be scary. What should say do?
Hello Queen Idol,
Injuries to the buccal mucosa (inside of the cheek) can arise from the following various causes:
Chronic trauma, due to being bitten by repeated molars, especially if the position of the teeth is not neat
Viral, bacterial or fungal infections
Oral lichen planus
Malignancy / oral cancer
Wounds on the oral mucosa that do not heal after 2 weeks, require further examination by a doctor. Especially if the wound has irregular edges, the wound resounds, accompanied by discharge of fluid such as pus or blood, rapidly widening. It is not recommended to use drugs carelessly in these conditions. The doctor's examination begins with anamnesis (a brief interview about the history of the disease) and also a physical examination. If the doctor suspects there are other more severe causes such as malignancy, then investigations such as biopsy need to be done. If not, the doctor will give medicines to be consumed or applied to the wound. Patients are encouraged to keep oral hygiene, stop smoking, replace toothbrushes with finer bristles, consume nutritious foods, especially high in vitamins A, C. Thus my explanation, may be useful.
