Soya Formula For 35 Weeks Old Premature Babies?
, I want to ask. My son is 3 months old for his chronological age. He was born prematurely at 35w. For breastfeeding there is no problem, I just want to make an option if I want to leave the house I want to give him soy formula milk. Is that good or not? Thank you
Hello dear Mother Nur Yelly,
Until the age of 6 months, breast milk (ASI) is the best food for babies. In addition to its complete nutritional content, breast milk is easily absorbed by the baby's digestive tract so it rarely causes health problems. It would be better if during this six month period the baby only gets breast milk, without a mixture of formula or water. This condition is called exclusive breastfeeding.
Even if you want to do activities outside the home, it does not mean that breastfeeding has stopped. If you have activities with your baby, you can visit the ASI corner room which can generally be found in various public facilities, including shopping centers. Another alternative, especially if you are not with your baby, is to prepare breastmilk (ASIP). ASIP is obtained by expressing milk from the breast, either by hand or assisted by a breast pump (manual or electric). Furthermore, ASIP is put in a sterile bottle or special ASIP plastic and stored in a cooler bag, refrigerator or freezer. ASIP durability varies depending on the storage media, namely:
freezer temperature -18 degrees Celsius (usually on two-door refrigerators) - up to 6 months freezer temperature 4 degrees Celsius - for 5 days cooler bag with ice pack - about 24 hours normal room temperature 25 degrees Celsius - maximum 4-6 hours No There is a formula that is recommended for babies less than 6 months. Even if you are still planning to give formula milk, you should consult directly with a pediatrician who usually treats your child.
Hope this information is useful
