Spots Outside The Menstrual Cycle Accompanied By Lower Abdominal Pain In IUD Users?
Hello. 40 days after giving birth I use KB IUD. It’s been 6 months, and blood spots or blood mucus always come out of my menses cycle. And all this time I smelled nothing. When I control the midwife, the IUD is not problematic. And the midwife said it could have an IUD effect but that’s okay. However, 2 days ago I experienced pain in the lower abdomen. Today I came out of mucous or blood spots again but it was very smelly. The smell is not fishy like menstrual blood. Being made related to sqma suqmi also feels sore. The color is dark red. Please explain, I have to go to the midwife to control the IUD or to the obstetrician.
Thank you for the question.
Blood spots or blood mucus outside the menstrual cycle, accompanied by unpleasant odors, pain during sexual intercourse, and pain in the lower abdomen in users of IUD (intrauterine device) should not be underestimated. It may be that these complaints arise because of pelvic inflammation, which is an inflammation of the uterus, fallopian tubes, and ovaries. This condition is indeed susceptible to IUD users, especially if the installation is carried out with an unsterile procedure. Not only that, your complaints may also arise due to other triggers, such as infections of the reproductive organs (including sexually transmitted infections), cervical cancer, hormonal disorders, endometriosis, myomas, and so on.
These conditions should be checked directly by a doctor or obstetrician. Physical examination, ultrasound, pap smear, urine test, cervical mucus examination, or other supporting tests can also be done by a doctor if there is a suspected serious disease that underlies your complaint.
In the meantime, so that complaints don't get worse, you are advised to:
Keep your intimate organs clean better Do not have risky sex (at this time, do not have to have sex with anyone to minimize the risk of transmission if it turns out your condition occurs related to infection) Change your underwear at least twice a day Regular exercise, rest enough, do not get too tired physical activity, and live a healthy lifestyle Compress warm stomach aches Drink more water Do not take any drugs Hopefully it helps ya ..
