StemCell Therapy For Cancer?
, will there be cancer treatment through stem cell therapy? Can this therapy be done for a complete cure? And its existence in Indonesia? thank you
Good morning, thanks for asking at HealthReplies.com. Stem cells or stem cells are known as a new treatment for people with chronic diseases, one of which is cancer. As we said in the previous question, stem cells are cells that have not differentiated so they are expected to replace the damaged parts of the body. However, this method is still widely debated and the information is not yet widely disseminated.
Stem cells will divide to form other cells called daughter cells. This division can occur in the body or in the laboratory. These child cells can then be divided into two types, namely new ones through the process of reproducing themselves and those specifically through the process of differentiation, for example into brain cells, blood cells, bones, and heart muscle.
Regarding your question, currently stem cells have indeed been used to fight cancer cells, for example in conditions of blood cancer or leukemia. But to call it a complete cure, seeing the development of stem cells which still need a lot of assessment and cancer, which is indeed a serious disease, is too early to conclude.
Meanwhile, its existence in Indonesia is still very limited and still not 'brave' to be used as standard handling due to limited research, evidence and available funds. However, until 2017, there were 11 hospitals that had been granted stem cell therapy licenses based on Permenkes no. 32 of 2014.
So, hopefully it answers your question.
