Stomach Ache During Intercourse
Doc, I just got married and when I had sex several times my lower abdomen was aching, for a rather deep penetration. Is that normal or why, right?
Hello Emera, thank you for asking to HealthReplies.com.
Let me introduce myself that Dr. Rio will answer your question.
Based on the complaints you feel, the pain that arises in the pubic area or lower abdomen is usually known as dyspareunia. There are several possibilities that occur, namely:
A normal thing, usually due to contraction of the pelvic region.
Not enough lubricant.
Urinary tract inflammation / infection.
There is irritation in the genital / pubic area.
Psychological factors, such as fear, shame, stress, etc.
Other conditions such as myoma, cysts, endometriosis, etc.
If the pain is felt only temporarily or several times and not continuously, it can be caused by something that is not severe. However, if the complaint continues, and getting worse, it should be checked by a doctor to ascertain what interference occurred. To reduce complaints, several things can be done such as:
Maintain cleanliness of the genital area.
Do relaxation and do not rush. Ensure adequate time for when going to have sex, so that triggers the release of natural lubricants. Sufficient lubricant can reduce pain that arises during intercourse.
Ensure a comfortable position so as not to cause pain.
That's all the answers I can give. Thank you :)
